Pass Plus or Not ?
Pass Plus is actually a road safety initiative targeted at improving the capabilities of new drivers. Once pupils have passed their test they are able to get structured tuition from pass plus registered course instructors. Pupils achieving the necessary standard may be eligible for a substantial discount on their insurance premiums from companies supporting this scheme.
The pass plus modules are :-
•Motorways
•Town driving
•Night driving
•Dual carriageways
•All weather driving
•Rural driving
The six PASS PLUS modules may be taken in 3 two hour sessions or even in its entirety in one day. The instructor will assess your performance as you complete each module and on accomplishing a competent standard you will then get a certificate from the DSA. I highly recommend PASS PLUS if you will receive an insurance saving. I believe it is essential that new drivers take further relevant lessons covering Pass Plus modules to ensure safe driving for life. The most common being Motorways and All Weather Driving. Pass Plus certification is only necessary if you are going to gain a discount on your insurance but taking the training gives you greater experience to deal with todays roads.
